One-on-One Coaching for Parents

Research is clear: Kids who read succeed. That’s why your child’s teacher wants them to read at night. So… why aren’t they more excited about digging into a book?

Yes, they can read. But odd are, they’re not comprehending what they’re reading, which is dampening their excitement and limiting their ability to get to the next level. That’s where you come in. As your child’s parent, you’re every bit as important as their teacher when it comes to reading. Good news: You don’t have to master phonics or teach a curriculum to help. In fact, it’s as easy as reading with your kids—even if they’re not little any more. And I can help you do that in a way that works for your family.

I coach parents on how to get their kids reading—and understanding what they are reading. That’s the key to making them confident, lifelong readers. Schools tell parents that kids need to be reading, but they don’t tell parents how to do this with their kids.

That’s where I come in!

How Coaching Can Help

My coaching combines easy-to-implement advice with research-backed strategies so that you can effectively support your child.

As your coach, I’ll help you:

  • Set-Up Reading Habits

In order to get your kids reading, you need to help them create and build reading habits. I’ll make this fast and simple.

  • Find Books Your Kids Will Want to Read

Kids need to have reading materials that they want to read. I’ll help you figure out what books to try out with your child to get them truly excited about reading.

  • Build Comprehension

I use research-based strategies that you can use when reading with your child about the books they are reading—so they fully understand what they are reading.

  • Keep it Fun!

If reading is only seen as work, kids won’t want to read. We will work on how to make reading fun and interactive for your child, so they’re opting to read on their own.
